Rite of Passage is a collection of doulas working together to
make a difference in our community. We currently have 5 birth doulas and one postpartum doula in our practice.
Started over 5 years ago by Sarah Watson, and joined later by others, we are woven together by a common thread of passion: providing high quality care to women and their families throughout their pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. Rite of Passage is the Windsor practice that provides evidence-based information and
advocacy for the birthing woman’s choices.
Rite of Passage services women throughout the Windsor-Essex county area. We work with doctors and midwives in local hospitals as well as with women who choose homebirth.
Our clients have low rates of intervention and our skills are best suited to women who want to be
well informed about their birthing options. We have the most extensive postpartum care with very high success rates in breastfeeding.
Exclusive to Rite of Passage is our “Consumer Awareness Workshop”™ a half-day monthly presentation filled with evidence based information about the procedures and interventions birthing women may face.
